What is the LCK Summer 2024 Playoffs
For players and online gaming enthusiasts, the LCK Summer 2024 Playoffs is the culmination of a tournament of the lck Summer split where teams fight for the second LCK title of the year and the Worlds 2024 qualifications.
LCK Summer 2024 Playoffs Format
Just the top six out of ten franchised esports teams make it to the playoffs. It is important to note that the team’s performance in the regular season determines their placements in the regular season. The playoffs follows a double-elimination format wherein the top two teams from regular season skin round 1 and directly enter the round 2 of the playoffs. The third seed has the availability to pick their opponents. Then, the winning team will move to the winner’s final, while the losing teams will drop and battle it out in the lower bracket. The upper bracket final, which is the first match of round 3, determines the first finalist. The team that will lose enters the lower bracket against the winner of the first lower bracket. The LCK Summer 2024 champion will qualify to represent the Korean region at the Worlds 2024 as first seed.
LCK Summer 2024 Teams and Schedule
Ten teams competed and six have advanced to the LCK Summer 2024 Playoffs. Teams who ranked from third to sixth will determine their advancement in the initial round and will face off in a single-elimination match in a best of five format. The third team, Dplus, has the power to choose between KR Rolster and FearX as its Round 1 opponents. The team, Dplus, picked FearX, making T1 face KR Tolster. While the top two teams can take a rest and prepare for the Playoffs.
