Riot Games on Releasing Console Version

According to Valorant’s production director at Riot Games Arnar Gylfason, “We believe there are millions of players that would love to play Valorant, but currently can’t, and we hope to change that with bringing Valorant to consoles. We aim to provide them the joy of the Valorant experience and all it entails: a core tactical shooter gameplay focused on mastery and player expression, a team based competitive environment where match quality and fairness comes first, our amazing ecosystem with a unique style, high quality cosmetics and a thriving community that values personal and competitive identity.” He added that, “When exploring whether to bring Valorant to additional platforms, we knew we had to be able to offer the same uncompromising, competitive experience that we’ve provided to PC players for years: a precise, team-based, tactical shooter. We were adamant that Valorant’s core, competitive gameplay, must feel natural on a controller; and — if we couldn’t deliver on that gameplay promise — we had to be prepared to walk away from it. We hope we nailed it, but ultimately, our players will have the final say.”

Valorant console will not have a cross-play feature unlike most of the games that can be played among different devices. Players on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 will have a connected, shared inventory, and gameplay progression tied to the specific Valorant account. There will also be simultaneous platform releases for both PC and console players. This includes all live patches, new agents, maps, additional live service features, and premium content.

While the plan is on set to release the game in console version, one of the biggest challenges for the developers was to adapt the game’s shooting mechanics. The main goal is to not compromise the precision and skill required for the game itself. That is why Riot Games created a new feature which is “Focus”. It is a shooting mode that behaves like Hip-Fire but with reduced sensitivity.

How can Players Access Valorant Console Beta?

Valorant on console will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox X|S. It is now available first in the U.S, Canada, The UK, Europe, and Japan. Riot Games will soon expand globally and add more regions as it gains popularity.

How to Join the Valorant Console Beta Version?

To join the Valorant beta, it requires a few steps. It’s worth a bit of waiting around to get to the front of the queue. If a player has a referral link from a player who is already participating in beta, players can use this to join right away.

If a player is not yet a slot, Riot Games is still taking sign up. Head to the website and enter the details. Once a player gets an invite, redeem your code and then proceed in downloading. Players are also able to invite up to five friends to join in one Beta link.

Valorant Console Maps

The limited beta release will have new and old maps, mixing them up so players in the beta phase can get a look and feel for the new port. It was unveiled officially that the console and PC versions will share the same maps, but it is yet to be confirmed if that means the same meta will be applied to both at once.

Once a player starts playing, callouts and locations become crucial and important. If players can’t relay to their team where an enemy is camping, or direct a sneaky push through a specific corridor. You may check out some Valorant map hacks here, from Ascent to Sunset.
